Watch: I Dream of Jeannie’s Barbara Eden Speaks Out After Costar Patrick Muldoon’s Sudden Death
Patrick Muldoon’s memory continues to live on.
Less than a week after the Days of Our Lives actor died from a heart attack at the age of 57, his sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa shared the last video her family received from her brother.
Patrick had sent a video of himself to the “constant family group chat,” Shana wrote on Instagram April 22, posting the clip which showed Patrick at a preview opening of the new Los Angeles County Museum of Art the night before his death.
The Melrose Placeactor pointed out Domenichino Zampieri’s 1622 painting Saint Ignatius of Loyola’s Vision of Christ and God the Father at La Storta before breaking out into a chant from his high school days at Loyola High School.
As Shana explained, she learned her brother was actually a fan of St. Ignatius “because he was kind of the cool guy, good time guy who was still able to become a saint.” That—paired with Patrick’s high school chant—reminded Shana of what a bright spot her brother was.
“As always, he jokes… and yet profoundly brings all things into one moment,” she wrote. “The joke-ster, the artist, the football player, and the intensely spiritually connected, Jesuit educated, incredible being that is Patrick Muldoon. My best friend. The best brother/son/uncle/anyone could ever possibly ask for.”
“I will have so much more to share as I know he loves this earthly realm and all he created within it,” she continued, “including all of the love and light his spirit is now receiving through all of you…. Surrounding you in light.”

Shana added that her family would soon have details on “when and where we will celebrate him,” but for now they were still processing his sudden death.
“I continue to speak of him in present tense,” she said. “Because his spirit is all around me. He just changed forms.”
And Shana wasn’t the only loved one to recall fond memories of her brother, as Denise Richards—who dated Patrick in the1990s—also paid tribute to her Starship Troopers costarfollowing his April 19 death.

“This is so hard for me to put into words,” Denise wrote on Instagram April 21 alongside photos and videos of the two. “I am deeply heartbroken & devastated losing you. You were my best friend & my family.”
The 55-year-old noted that she and Patrick met in an acting class 36 years ago, adding that he had played an important role in her “whole adult life.”
“I don’t know it without you,” she continued. “The friendship, love, support, respect & loyalty we had was unconditional and rare.”
