Nigerian professor of political economy, Pat Utomi, has reacted to viral footage showing traders booing promoters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at a market in Abuja.
A video currently trending on social media captured the moment traders and marketers at Banex Plaza in Wuse 2 were chanting, “Na Peter Obi we want.”
DAILY POST reports that the spontaneous rally and chanting occurred when APC members attempted to campaign in the area by putting up campaign banners for President Bola Tinubu.
The video has generated mixed reactions, with some Nigerians attributing the incident to the alleged rejection of the ruling party, while others argued that the traders were predominantly Peter Obi’s kinsmen.
Reacting to the development, Utomi said supporters of Obi, popularly known as Obidients, could not be intimidated, describing the energy displayed in the video as extraordinary.
“One of the beautiful things about Peter Obi is that his supporters are not the kind of people you can intimidate.
“The energy in this video is extraordinary. Nigeria will definitely be OK in 2027,” Utomi wrote on his official X handle.
