Josh Jacobs is in some hot water. The Green Bay Packers running back was arrested on Tuesday and received several charges connected to domestic abuse, two of which are felonies. Jacobs turned himself in to the police at the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department in Hobart, Wisconsin. The 28-year-old NFL veteran is currently being held without bond.
In response to Jacobs’ booking and ongoing legal situation, the Packers released a noncommittal statement through a team spokesperson on Tuesday evening.
Jacobs’ arrest comes at an awkward time for the Packers, who began organized team activities (OTAs) at their headquarters on Tuesday. After practice on Wednesday, the organization closed the locker room and canceled all usual player media availability.

The only Packers team representative who spoke was head coach Matt LaFleur. When asked for comment on the Jacobs situation, LaFleur deferred back to the Packers’ original statement for the time being before claiming that the organization has “high standards” pertaining to legal matters.
Jacobs is entering his third season with the Packers. He is a three-time Pro Bowler, a former First-Team All-Pro, and also led the NFL in rushing yards in 2022. He has 2,258 total rushing yards and 28 touchdowns while averaging over four yards per carry in his two seasons in Green Bay. Jacobs has two years remaining on a contract extension signed with the Packers in March 2024.
