Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have reportedly killed 15 terrorists, including two ISWAP commanders, in air strikes that destroyed a suspected IED logistics hideout in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation took place around 9:20 p.m. on October 28, 2026, near Kerenoa, following intelligence reports about terrorist activities in the area.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the military said surveillance detected two suspected terrorists riding a motorcycle to a makeshift structure before further monitoring revealed the presence of additional fighters.
The military said precision strikes were subsequently launched against the location, with a battle damage assessment indicating that 15 terrorists had been neutralised and structures destroyed.
The two commanders identified among those killed were Abu Musanna and Hassan Abu Huraira, described by the military as prominent ISWAP figures.
Several other fighters were reportedly wounded, including the ISWAP Wali, or governor, of the area, who was said to have sustained critical injuries.
The military added that a secondary fire observed after the strikes suggested the structure may have been used to store improvised explosive device materials.
“The Joint Task Force would continue coordinated operations against terrorist elements in the region in pursuit of its mandate to restore lasting peace and security,” the report stated.
