One man has been arrested and two others deported after a four-month investigation into an alleged drug trafficking operation in Surrey that uncovered more than $890,000 worth of illicit drugs.

Surrey Police Service investigators launched the probe in February into several people police suspected were involved in drug trafficking, including in fentanyl.

On May 21, police searched a home in Surrey with the help of the Canada Border Services Agency and an emergency response team.

Three men were arrested and several types of drugs, with an estimated street value of $891,000, were seized from the property.

The drugs included more than 15 kilograms of opium, about 1 1/2 kilograms of cannabis, 560 grams of cocaine and 468 grams of fentanyl, which is the equivalent of about 23,400 lethal doses.

Police also seized 148 grams of methamphetamine, 35 grams of heroin, packaging materials, scales and cookware, and about $2,150 in cash.

Gurjot Singh, 24, faces one count of trafficking and five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Singh, a foreign national, remains in custody until his next court date on June 26.

Two other men haven’t been charged, but have been deported by the CBSA.
