The Oklahoma Sooners picked up another talented defensive tackle prospect in the 2027 recruiting class with the commitment of Sione Felila out of Hesperia, California.
Felila chose the Sooners over offers from Notre Dame, Oregon, Cal, Washington, UCLA, TCU, and Utah.

A legit nose tackle, Felila has great size for the position at 6-foot-2 and 310 pounds. But he moves incredibly well, displaying the ability to create disruption with penetration, but shows incredible play strength at the point of attack to be disruptive in the running game.
Felila has the ability to play both defensive tackle spots and can be a difference maker when asked to one-gap (which relies on quickness, strength, and getting up the field into your gap responsibility) or in two-gap scenarios (where he’s asked to read the play and then react and make a play depending on what the running back does).
He’s the 20th commitment in the 2027 recruiting class, and although he’s not highly rated according to 247Sports and Rivals, he has the ability to far exceed his recruiting ranking.
Felila joins two other promising defensive tackle prospects in Deven Robertson and Elijah Harmon, giving the Sooners a dynamic interior defensive line trio to add to their depth chart in 2027.
