It is only the beginning of the 2026-27 season, but Real Madrid have already won two of their games in injury time. The first one was their very first game of the new league campaign, as Carlos Espi scored the winning goal for his team in injury time. It was a similar case in the last game against Elche, as the newly signed forward once again rose to the occasion to score in injury time, and give his side a 2-3 win.
Despite having quite a good first half in that last game, the Merengues once again struggled to control the game in the second half, during which they conceded two goals. Following this rather unsatisfactory performance, they are set to return to La Liga action today, on Sunday, and this time, they will be facing one of the strongest sides in Spain, Atletico Madrid.
