Watch: Why ‘Off Campus’ Stars Josh Heuston, Mika Abdalla Are Sparking Romance Rumors
Allie Hayes is heading towards the spotlight.
Mika Abdalla shared insight into what fans can expect from her character in season two of the beloved season Off Campus, which will see Allie and Dean Di Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn) take center stage.
But while Allie was the eternally supportive, dramatic theater major best friend to Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) in season one, she will have more to grapple with in the next installment.
“It’s a lot more emotionally turbulent,” Abdalla told Vogue India of season two in an interview published Sept. 1. “So you lose some of that fun, best-friend energy.”
Nevertheless, the Allie Hayes fans adore hasn’t gone far.
“I check in to ensure I’m hitting important character beats,” the 26-year-old continued, “but still incorporating the parts of Allie that people love.”
One thing that will remain the same? Allie’s fan-coveted, long curly locks. After all, it was Abdalla’s own hair.
“It’s just my haircut,” she revealed of the much talked about hairstyle. “I’ve had it since I moved to LA.”
Adding that it was “so sweet” for the Off Campus team to let her keep her natural hair for the series, she did assure fans she doesn’t always leave the house looking that effortless in IRL.
“It does not look the way it does on Allie,” she admitted. “Even 20 percent of the time.”

But while Abdalla and Kalyn’s onscreen chemistry as Allie and Dean has already become the stuff of legend among fans, in real life Abdalla’s love life has struck a chord with a different Off Campus cast member: Josh Heuston, who played musician heartthrob Justin in season one.
Though the pair haven’t officially addressed their relationship, they were recently holding hands and exchanging sweet kisses while on a stroll in Vancouver, where Off Campus films.
Abdalla was previously engaged to Jake Short—whom she starred alongside in 2022’s Sex Appeal—before the pair called off their engagement earlier this year.
“Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life, it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together,” her rep told Us Weekly in June. “They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.”
