The Mets are coming off one of their more complete performances of June as Nolan McLean twirled six scoreless innings, Francisco Alvarez and Luis Torrens both homered and the bullpen closed the door over the final three innings of a 3-0 victory.
The Mets begin the month of June with a 36-50 record.
The Mets will be looking for Freddy Peralta to continue to turn the page after his woeful 10-run start on June 20 against the Phillies.
In his last outing, Peralta gave up three runs (none earned) on five hits and one walk across 5⅔ innings with five strikeouts. In the process, he lowered his ERA to 4.53 and settled for a no-decision to remain at 5-6.
