The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has banned a Warri Wolves fan, Keno Iyaruwe, from all league matches, DAILY POST reports.
Iyaruwe was alleged to have assaulted a match official after Warri Wolves’ matchday 10 encounter against four-time champions Kano Pillars in Ozoro on Sunday.
The suspect is currently in police custody in Warri, according to reports.
In compliance with the NPFL’s directive, Warri Wolves have also agreed to display his name and photograph at all stadium entrances to ensure he is denied access to stadium activities involving the club.
The Seasiders reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on violence and any conduct that threatens the safety, dignity and integrity of match officials, players, club officials and other stakeholders.
Warri Wolves have already been fined N4.2 million as well as docked three points and three goals by the NPFL following the incident.
The club will also play their next three home matches behind closed doors as part of their punishment.
