NPFL: Finidi thrilled with Rivers United’s draw with Abia Warriors

Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, has expressed happiness with the point earned by his team in a goalless draw against Abia Warriors.

Finidi described Abia Warriors’ home ground as a difficult place to earn a point.

The experienced tactician expressed optimism that the point would play a crucial role in helping his team achieve their target for the season.

“Coming on the road to pick a point here (Umuahia), against a difficult side, is good. A lot of teams have lost here by big goal margins. We came here trying to control the game and score a goal, which wasn’t possible,” Finidi told the club’s media.

“These are things that happen in football, and we are happy with the one point. We will keep building on it.”

Rivers United remain the only team yet to taste defeat in the NPFL this campaign.

The Pride of Rivers sit in second position on the NPFL table with 16 points from eight matches.
