Lando Norris’ celebration ritual nearly ended badly for the McLaren driver after his Formula One victory in Brazil on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Briton wanted to open his bottle of champagne on the podium by slamming it firmly onto the floor, as he has often done before.

This time, however, Norris did it so forcefully that its neck broke off, leaving him holding it in his hand.
Fortunately for the 2025 world champion, who had been dethroned a week earlier by Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, he was not injured as the bottle shattered.
The podium first had to be cleared of the shards so that Antonelli and the Silver Arrows could celebrate their constructors’ championship win in Brazil.
