Watch: Noah Kahan Reveals He Goes Full “Hannah Montana Mode” to Stay Grounded
Noah Kahan is detailing the great divide in his personal and professional life.
Indeed, “The Great Divide” singer—who was recently named one of TIME’s Most Influential People of 2026—shared insight into how he stays grounded while pursuing a career in the spotlight.
“I have an amazing family and a lovely wife and a whole life outside of music that allows me to feel grounded,” Noah exclusively told E! News at the 2026 TIME100 Gala April 23. “Every time I go home to Vermont my family immediately grounds me in the best way.”
“I go Hannah Montana mode, you know?” he added. “Like, I take the wig off and then I just be myself.”
And coming back down to Earth has never been difficult for the “Stick Season” hitmaker. As he put it, “I’ve always found it easy to kind of disconnect which is nice.”
The 29-year-old—who recently opened up about his struggle with body dysmorphia, a mental health condition in which a person can’t stop thinking about their perceived flaws, according to Mayo Clinic—also shared how getting candid about his mental health struggles has allowed him to connect deeper with his fanbase.
“It’s amazing,” Noah—who married his longtime partner last September—said. “It means that I can be myself and talk about the things that I go through with specificity and the fact that people receive that and find their own ways to connect to it is the greatest formula ever.”

“It means I can just be me,” he added, “and I’m very grateful for that.”
As for how his life has changed since speaking openly about his mental health battle?
“I think it’s gotten easier,” the “Northern Attitude” singer explained. “It allows me to be in the moment, to accept that I am worthy and it’s been a really lovely practice trying to stay present.”
