Vermont-based singer and songwriter Noah Kahan has a history of sold-out shows in Vancouver.

In 2024, he launched his We’ll All Be Here Forever tour at Rogers Arena and packed the place. He had previously sold out headlining shows at the Commodore and Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre at UBC. With every visit it seemed the mellow ukulele-strummer just added more numbers of extremely dedicated followers to his fan base and now he is performing at B.C.’s biggest arena.

One of a select few solo artists who can sell out major stadiums across the world, Kahan launched The Great Divide Tour in support of his fourth full-length studio album of the same name in June.

The set draws from across his recorded output. With the noted omission of his breakout single, Hurt Somebody, the 29 year-old artist is dropping fan favourites from Dial Drunk and Porchlight to Stick Season and Everywhere, Everything at almost every performance. All told, sets are averaging 22 tunes.

His backing quintet features lead guitar and banjo player Noah Levine, guitarist and bouzouki player Mike Harris, multi-instrumentalists Dylan Jones, fiddler Nina de Vitry and drummer Marcos Valles. Only Jones and de Vitry are featured on The Last Divide, which contained one of the largest contingents of contributing players of any of Kahan’s albums.

In its review of the singer’s Rose Bowl Stadium show on Aug. 16, Variety writer Chris Willman noted how Kahan connected deeply with his audience over the two-and-a-half hour concert which became a celebration of musical odes to everything from dead friends and divorced parents, to how much COVID sucked for everyone. He notes that Kahan is something like a male match to Taylor Swift, penning incredibly strong and honest material.
