New England was one of the standout stories of last season, bouncing back from just four wins in 2024 to competing for the Super Bowl in the 2025 season. It will be interesting to see how many primetime games the Patriots get this year.
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox predicted which teams will have the most primetime games this season, with the Patriots coming in at five.
“The New England Patriots were the AFC’s surprise contender in 2025,” Knox wrote on Sunday. “While New England failed to put up much of a fight in Super Bowl LX and could very easily regress this season, the Patriots are still likely to be featured in prime time.
“New England is, after all, the Super Bowl runner-up — a status that has traditionally gotten time in the spotlight. Kansas City got seven primetime games last year, while the San Francisco 49ers got six games in 2024, and the Philadelphia Eagles got five games in 2023.”

Patriots fans are used to watching their team compete in primetime games, a tradition that dates back to the 20 years Tom Brady spent leading them. Now, Drake Maye has the potential to be the quarterback who can lead the Patriots in primetime games, hopefully for the next 10 to 15 years.
