Week 6 of the 2026 NFL season is on the horizon and we’re heading into our first big bye week slate. Four teams — the Bengals, Lions, Vikings and Dolphins — won’t be playing, which will leave some holes in your lineup, on top of an ever-growing injury report. Below we’ll provide the latest news, updates and fantasy football analysis for the Week 6 NFL injury report.
-
Lamar Jackson, BAL (ankle)
-
Caleb Williams, CHI (hamstring)

Jackson: The Ravens held Jackson out for their Week 5 win on SNF against the Falcons. Baltimore is hopeful that Jackson can return for Week 6 in a key spot against the rival Browns. Tyler Huntley was capable in the comeback victory over Atlanta, finishing with 201 yards and two touchdowns, plus 20 rushing yards and a score on the ground. If Jackson sits, Huntley is a decent streaming option in fantasy, particularly with Jared Goff and Joe Burrow on bye.
Williams: The Bears could have Williams back under center in Week 6, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Williams has missed the past three games with a hamstring strain and Chicago has gone 2-1 with Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent splitting time. Things got a bit ugly in Week 5 in a 31-7 loss to Green Bay. Bagent threw two INTs and just 87 yards before being benched for Keenum, who also threw a pick. If Williams can get back into the lineup, he’s good to fire up in fantasy, and should be a boost to all Bears receivers against the Falcons in Week 6.
Penix: The Falcons lost Penix late in their OT loss to Baltimore on SNF in Week 5. Tua Tagovailoa came in relief and, well, did Tua things, throwing a game-ending interception in OT. If Penix misses games again, it could sink Atlanta’s passing game if Tagovailoa is forced to start. Bijan Robinson would mostly be fine for fantasy as a clear elite RB1 but his ceiling may come down. Drake London takes the biggest hit if Penix is out.

Eagles RBs: Barkley missed Week 5’s brutal loss in London to the Jaguars. Shipley was injured during the game, paving the way for Dameon Pierce to lead the backfield. He only mustered 14 yards on 11 carries. If the Eagles can get Barkley back for Week 6 against the Panthers, great. But there’s an issue of depth and the offensive line just lost Lane Johnson to retirement. If Barkley returns, managers can play him but know that his upside is severely lacking. Pierce is worth a waiver wire claim in deeper formats with Shipley facing a potential multi-week absence, but would be a risky flex option if Barkley sits again. Also be on the lookout for Philly to add a back via trade or the free agent pool.
Montgomery: The Texans’ lead back was injured in Week 5’s win over Tennessee and did not return. Head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters that Monty “may miss some time” due to the groin issue. If Montgomery is sidelined, Woody Marks would take over as the RB1 for Houston and see the bulk of the touches in Week 6 against the Jaguars in London. Dare Ogunbowale would see some snaps as the backup. Marks would be a good RB3/flex option with RB2 upside. Week 6 is a tough draw against Jacksonville, but the Giants and Chargers are solid gets for Marks if Montgomery’s injury lingers.
Henderson: It’s been a rough start to his second NFL season for Henderson, who left early with an ankle injury in Week 5’s blowout win over Las Vegas. Corey Kiner got some snaps with Henderson out but it was mostly Rhamondre Stevenson getting the work. That had been the case, Stevenson leading the way with Henderson as the change-of-pace back. If Henderson is out, Stevenson is an even safer RB2 option, especially the way the Patriots have rebounded the past two weeks. New England’s schedule sets up well moving forward, making Stevenson an appealing trade target.

Lamb: This injury isn’t believed to be serious, plus it happened on TNF against the Bucs in Week 5. That gives Lamb some extra time to rest before Week 6 against the Packers. Green Bay has been good against the pass this season, but haven’t faced a QB of Dak Prescott’s stature. If Lamb is healthy, you’re obviously firing him up in all formats. If Lamb has to miss this game, George Pickens gets a boost while it could open things up for TE Jake Ferguson and WR Ryan Flournoy.
