You bet I’m trying to combine the power of Friday Night Lights and The Karate Kid. Why wouldn’t I?
It’s beyond obvious there’s a damn curse on the Huskers and their fans. Tarot cards, chicken bones, virgins & wells, Ouija boards, toadstools, rain dances, Ted Lasso trashcan burnings and all other manner of witchery may be required spring this damn thing loose. Add to that the bottle tossers, Matt Rhule daughter harassers, absolute dopes calling Rhule, his daughter, his QB, his DC liars (and probably a bunch of other abbreviations), because, oh, THEY JUST KNOW, and, brother these Huskers need some support.

As well as some Red Magic.
Hell, Barry Switzer proudly swore by Sooner Magic for decades. And if such things obviously worked for Oklahoma, we’d be damned fools to leave it on the table. Husker Magic, Red Witchcraft, Osborne Enchantment; we can worry about the t-shirts later. It’s time to activate it, because everything else is in place.
No, now hold on, just think about it this year. What are we mad about compared to other years? We used to be pissed about losing these tight games against the likes of Minnesota, Michigan State and Maryland. Last season we were winning the one-score games against those guys and then getting curb-stomped by scores of 37-10, 40-16 and 44-22 as we crossed the finish line.
This year, we’re going over the falls after three straight losses in the 4th quarter. Games we led for 170:49 out of a combined 180:00 minutes. And 7:32 of that 9:11 was where Indiana took the lead. Oregon? :28 seconds. Washington? 1:11.

We’re mad – and rightfully so – because why?
We should be undefeated.
Think about that. If not for outside interference from spirits and other similar assholes, we are 8-0, ranked in at least the Top 10 and only having to worry about playing our way out of the CFP.
I mean, listen to poor Luke Lindenmeyer. If his higher power exists, he or she sat by and let him be taken over not bothering to lend a hand from beyond.
“I don’t know. I just stopped. I don’t know why…I feel terrible. Hard watching that play back.”
They need our help, dammit.
I begin by invoking the spirit of Dillon’s Coach Erik Taylor and his There are people in the stands who will never give up on you halftime speech.
If you didn’t watch the wonderful streaming series Cobra Kai, well here’s a spoiler alert: Johnny Lawrence pulls himself out of drunken and useless life to redeem himself and the resurrected Cobra Kai dojo and you know what that means –

FINISH HIM! is no longer the battle cry of the All-Valley Tournament two-time losers in The Karate Kid and Karate Kid 3. It and other victory shouts from the once vilified dojo and the temporarily-formed Eagle Fang dojo – yes, it was pointed out eagles do not have fangs – are fine to use now.
And, honestly, what does Nebraska need more than a bigger dose of than FINISH HIM!?
Just remember that if things get close again tonight. Finish Them.
On with the vibes:
