The Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in Nasarawa State, Joseph Danjuma, has resigned from the party.
Danjuma cited a lack of opportunity to perform his duties as the party’s spokesperson as the reason for his decision.
He also declared support for the Social Democratic Party, SDP, governorship candidate in the state and former Inspector-General of Police, Abubakar Adamu.
Danjuma announced the development in a letter addressed to the NDC chairman in Nasarawa State.
In the letter, Danjuma said his resignation from both the party and his position as publicity secretary takes immediate effect.
“My decision follows the lack of opportunity to perform my role as the spokesperson of the party in the state,” he stated.
Following his resignation, the former party spokesman said he had decided to join Adamu’s campaign ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
