EAST LANSING — Michigan State will be down one of its budding linebackers for its Big Ten opener against Nebraska on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Brady Pretzlaff, the Spartans‘ (2-1) starting will linebacker, is listed out on the initial injury report against the Cornhuskers (3-0). That game kicks off at 5 p.m. at Spartan Stadium and is broadcast on Big Ten Network.

In a new modification to its injury reporting rules, the Big Ten mandates teams report injuries Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of a game week by 8 p.m. ET. A final injury report is also given on Saturday two hours before kickoff.
Pretzlaff, who came up shaky after a first half tackle against Notre Dame, is one of six players listed out alongside fullback Jay Coyne and four freshmen: tight end Joe Caudill, safety Elijah Caldwell and offensive linemen Eli Bickel and Tristan Comer.
Wide receiver K.K. Smith is listed as questionable, and so is defensive lineman Cal Thrush after an injury on the second half kickoff against Notre Dame. Cornerback Tyran Chappell, who also left that game, is also listed questionable.
