Michigan State athletic director Dan Bartholomae is ready to push for more resourcing to the Spartans football program.
Ahead of homecoming weekend, Bartholomae released a statement about the future of Michigan State athletics and Spartan Ventures, which included a strong statement about raising money for the football program. In his statement, Bartholomae said he has the following three “guideposts” as he looks at resourcing:

-
Creating the best student-athlete experience in the country
-
Investing in programs with a demonstrated return on that investment
-
Opportunity for success
He would follow-up that statement with a comment on this being specifically for the football program.
“Coach Fitzgerald and our football program are priorities that align with all three,” Bartholomae said. “Football must be resourced to be competitive immediately, and they will be. Providing those resources as we build towards the future is my primary focus every day. This includes resources for roster development AND other football priorities such as Spartan Stadium renovations. We can’t just pick one – they both must be addressed.”
