    Watch: ‘Mormon Wives’ Alum Demi Engemann Reacts to Claim She Cheats on Husband Bret Engemann

    Demi Engemann is setting the record straight.

    The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives alum clapped back after her costar Chase McWhorter alleged in a social media comment (which appears to have since been deleted) that Demi cheats on her husband Bret Engemann “like it’s a part time job.”

    In response, Demi wrote, “Things I’ve never done: 1. Cheated on Bret 2. Taken anything Chase McWhorter says seriously.”

    Demi and Bret—who share three kids between them from prior relationships—appeared in the first seasons of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives before making an exit from the series during filming of season four. 

    During her time on the series, Demi’s intimate life with her husband of five years became a main topic of conversation, as did her feud with Jessi Draper over her now-boyfriend Marciano Brunette.

    The clip under which Chase—who was previously married to cast member Miranda Hope—commented sees Jessi sharing her thoughts on where Demi stands with the rest of the SLOMW cast after her exit.

    “As of right now,” Jessi said during her appearance on the Cheers! with Avery podcast Sept. 21, “I think she’s on okay terms with some of the girls. Like I think it’s just cordial.”

    As for her exit, Demi has stood firm in the decision to leave filming.

    “Listen, I might come and go,” she told TMZ alongside Bret in March, “but there are people who stay, who want to go, who don’t have the balls to go. So, I will always be the girl who walks away for my peace, my mental health and comes and goes.”

    And while she has yet to return to the series, Demi emphasized that freedom is her right. 

    “Like, it’s my opportunity, too, so I can do what I want with that,” she said. “I don’t regret anything, and I’ll stand by my decision to come and go as I need to.”

    She also addressed her place in MomTok, the internet niche that first launched the Utah-based women to fame.

    “I’ve definitely taken a step back for sure,” Demi said at the time. “I come and go, so you never know what the future may hold.”

    Since ending her romance with the Basin Tiling founder, the mom of three (she shares two kids with ex-husband Tate Paul) was set to find love once again on season 22 of The Bachelorette, but things got a bit thorny when news broke in March 2026 of an alleged confrontation between the exes weeks earlier. A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department confirmed to People that there was an open “domestic assault investigation,” telling the outlet “allegations have been made in both directions.”Days later, a video of a previous 2023 physical altercation between Taylor and Dakota surfaced online, prompting ABC to cancel the MomToker’s season of the dating franchise.As for Dakota, he has kicked off a romance with show guest star Shinia Powell, though he previously apologized to Taylor for hooking up with her during a season four episode.

    Miranda McWhorter & Chase McWhorter: DivorcedAlthough Miranda is a newer addition to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, joining in season two, she played a major role in the infamous MomTok “soft swinging scandal.” Despite the situation with Taylor,Miranda revealed that drama wasn’t the reason for her 2024 divorce from Chase.”The reasons why we decided to split were things that were issues far before that,” she explained on the Weekly Trash podcast in August 2024. “That might not have helped, for sure, but it definitely did not play a part in the decision process.”Nonetheless, she and Chase have been committed to parenting their kids Brooks and Cohen.”With co-parenting, you’re always having to work on it,” she reflected. “The thing is that if we got along perfectly all the time and it was just rainbows and butterflies, we probably wouldn’t have gotten divorced.””The thing with him and I,” she continued, “we’ve always had a pretty good foundation of a friendship prior to even having a romantic relationship. I feel like that’s something that set us up for some level of success when it comes to co-parenting.”
