Connecticut Sun general manager Morgan Tuck said the plan is for her to remain in the same role as the franchise moves to Houston this offseason, she told CT Insider this week.
Tuck, 32, has been the general manager of the Sun since Dec. 2024.

Tilman Fertitta purchased the franchise earlier this year. The team, which will bring back the Comets name, will begin play at Toyota Center next year.
“The plan is that I’m going to Houston, and I’m excited about that and looking forward to it,” Tuck told CT Insider. “It’s something that we’re still kind of working through. I think all of the aspects of what Houston will look like; it’s been a lot trying to kind of get through that during a season.”
Tuck took over as general manager as the team on the verge of a rebuild. After making two WNBA Finals in 2019 and 2022, that iteration of the Sun had run its course by the end of the 2024 WNBA season.
She traded away Alyssa Thomas, a top-five MVP finisher in each of the previous three seasons, and DiJonai Carrington, the reigning Most Improved Player of the Year, in the winter of 2025. Multiple-time All-Stars DeWanna Bonner and Brionna Jones also left in free agency.

Connecticut finished the 2025 season with a 11-33 record, third-worst in the league. Connecticut is 10-30 with four games left to go this year, which is second-worst in the league.
The team will have a high pick in next year’s draft, which could include star guards JuJu Watkins of USC and Hannah Hidalgo of Notre Dame along with Texas forward Madison Booker.
Tuck has spent most of the last 15 years in the Northeast. She played college basketball at UConn, arriving in the same recruiting class as Brenna Stewart. Tuck ended up winning four straight national titles with the Huskies, who had a 151-5 record during the four years she was on the team.
During her senior year, on a team that featured 10 future WNBA players, Tuck was second on the team in scoring (13.7 ppg) and rebounds (5.7 rpg).

She was drafted third overall in the 2016 draft by the Sun behind her UConn teammates Stewart and Moriah Jefferson. She played four years with the Sun and one year with the Seattle Storm before retiring due to knee injuries.
Tuck did win a WNBA ring in 2020 as a member of the Storm.
She joined the Sun after retiring as director of franchise development in 2021 before adding on the responsibility of assistant general manager.
