Alex Consani left little to the imagination at the 2026 Met Gala.
The model turned heads at the May 4 “Costume Art”-themed benefit, baring her nipples in a Gucci gown by Demna featuring a sheer, skin-colored corset top and feathered black skirt.
Alex completed the look with a white cape, taking inspiration for the outfit from Sandro Botticelli’s 15th century painting “Primavera” for the “Fashion Is Art” dress code. (See all the stars at the Met Gala here.)
“We sent each other some references; we talked a little bit about how we wanted it to feel, and he was already on it,” Alex told Vogue of her and Demna’s design process. “At the fitting for his first show, we had a conversation about what I wanted, and he was really, really receptive to making it happen.”
According to the 22-year-old, Demna focused on Chloris, the goddess of flowers and spring, as the main inspiration for the look, giving Alex a metamorphosis of her own once she dropped the white cape on the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
“The best way to describe it is white swan to black swan,” Alex explained of her gown, later adding, “I instantly felt like a different b—h—I feel like I’m NataliePortman, a little mix of TildaSwinton… I think there’s just an actress energy that it puts me in.”
And for her historic moment as the first trans woman on the Met Gala host committee, she felt honored to have been dressed by the Italian fashion house.

“You feel as if it’s a piece of armor that changes you for the better,” she said. “Demna gives the girls the opportunity to express themselves individually.”
Indeed, she expressed herself not just as an attendee at the Costume Institute benefit, but also as a member of the night’s host committee, withBeyoncé,Nicole Kidman,Venus Williams andAnna Wintouron co-chair duty.

And the chance to play a part in fashion’s biggest night was incredibly important to Alex.
“Tysm to everyone who made this possible,” she wrote on Instagram May 4. “To be the first trans woman to host the met is such an honor and for everyone who made this fantasy come to life thank you so so much!”
