After a three-year absence, the MLB Field of Dreams game returns to the schedule as the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies face off in the Iowa cornfields.

The first Field of Dreams game was a classic, with the Chicago White Sox defeating the New York Yankees on a Tim Anderson walk-off home run. The second, however, was a less exciting affair between the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.
This year’s game is different, though, as there have been renovations at the complex in Dyersville, Iowa, in the years since the last game. That should make it possible to host more consistent games at the field, both professional and otherwise.
Both teams come into the game fighting for playoff spots, with the Phillies having a slightly better record than the Twins. The star-studded affair will feature names like Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber and Byron Buxton in the spotlight.

8:21 p.m.: Bradley is getting stronger as he goes, working an easy 1-2-3 inning in the third.
8:16 p.m.: Nola gets out of the inning without any more damage, but Minnesota has cut the lead in half.
8:10 p.m.: HOME RUN! Luke Keaschall gets the Twins on the board with a solo shot off Nola.
8:04 p.m.: Despite a walk to Trea Turner, Bradley has a much cleaner second inning that includes a strikeout of Harper.

7:57 p.m.: The Twins get runners on but Aaron Nola works out of it to keep them off the board in the first.
7:50 p.m.: Trevor Larnach leads off the bottom of the inning with a single, and now Byron Buxton comes up to the plate.
7:47 p.m.: Bradley escapes a bases loaded damage as J.T. Realmuto flies out, but not before the Twins starter throws 30 pitches.
7:40 p.m.: Bryson Stott singles the other way to score Harper, giving Philadelphia another run.
7:39 p.m.: The Phillies have something going after a Bryce Harper walk and a Luis Arraez single. It’s first and third with one out.

7:34 p.m.: HOME RUN! Scharber starts the game with a bang as he sends a leadoff homer into the corn.
7:33 p.m.: And we are underway from Iowa! TaJ Bradley starts for the Twins as Schwarber digs in.
7:19 p.m.: As part of the night’s ceremony, 26 Hall of Famers were introduced before the game alongside the Twins and Phillies players.
7:07 p.m.: Phillies and Twins players all came onto the field through the cornfields in the outfield, an homage to the movie.
6:25 p.m.: The troubling weather in the area doesn’t seem to be too much of a threat, so the teams should be good to go for tonight.
6:05 p.m.: There is rain in the forecast, and if the game is rained out, it will be moved to tomorrow night.
5:50 p.m.: Both the Twins and the Phillies are soaking in every moment in Dyersville ahead of the game.
5:35 p.m.: Kevin Costner is lending his voice to Netflix for the game’s ceremony, which includes this intro.
5:20 p.m.: As Netflix is doing the game, Barry Bonds and Albert Pujols are two of the many players representing the history of the league.
5:00 p.m.: The Twins lineup is headlined by Byron Buxton, who was activated off the injured list earlier today.
4:40 p.m.: Twins legends Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer are out on the field early having a catch.
4:20 p.m.: The Phillies lineup for the Field of Dreams game will see Kyle Schwarber lead off the game, with Bryce Harper set to hit third.

The Field of Dreams game between the Phillies and Twins will take place on Thursday, August 7:30 p.m. ET from Dyersville, Iowa. It is the only game in the window and the only major league game from Iowa this season.
Netflix secured the rights to the Field of Dreams game this year, marking the first time the game has not been broadcast on traditional television. Previously, Fox had the call on the game in 2021 and 2022, but in the three years since MLB last played in Iowa, Netflix struck a deal with the league to carry the game.

The broadcast will feature many familiar faces, as Matt Vasgersian, Barry Bonds, CC Sabathia, Hunter Pence, Anthony Rizzo, Albert Pujols and Elle Duncan will all be part of the broadcast.

The MLB Field of Dreams game is not free on Netflix, as viewers will need a Netflix subscription to watch the game. If you are already a Netflix subscriber, though, it will come at no additional cost to watch the game. New subscribers will need to sign up for a monthly plan.
It is one of a handful of baseball events that will only be on a streaming service this season.
