A runner participating the in Milwaukee Lakefront Half Marathon Sunday morning, Oct. 4, was rushed to a local hospital, event organizers confirmed.
Organizers, citing privacy law, said no additional information about the incident would be shared. Both the full marathon and half marathon started at 7 a.m. Sunday.

The full marathon route began around the Baird Center, then wound north around Lake Park, south to Warnimont Park in Cudahy and looped back to Urban Park in Milwaukee, crossing the Hoan Bridge.
News of the hospitalized runner comes just shy of a month after a triathlete died while participating in the IRONMAN 70.3 in Madison.
The athlete, a 51-year-old man from Colorado, was at least the third person to die since 2019 while or after participating in the Ironman event.
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying race.
