And since then, Brown, 22, and Bongiovi, 24, have kept up their vow of maintaining their daughter’s privacy, opting not to publicly disclose her name or share photos of her face.

“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” Brown told British Vogue in November. “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly.”

“If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support,” she continued. “But right now, as she’s so little—as her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that.”

Which likely explains why Brown and Bongiovi—the son of Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea Bongiovi—opted to only post a photo of their new son’s hand when announcing his arrival.

And for Brown, adopting a baby has always been her “childhood dream.”

“Adoption was always a part of my future,” Brown told Kylie Kelce on a June episode of Not Gonna Lie. “Adoption is love. Adoption is forever.”

“The aspect of adoption in my social work courses was everything and so, so meaningful and important,” she added. “I also learned [by] speaking to and reading a lot about being a birth mother and what that journey is. So for me, my husband and I took a lot of time to focus on what that story and what that journey looks like and then we embarked it.”
