Michigan State baseball went on the road to their first trip ever to the state of Washington to face off with the Huskies of Washington in a Big Ten series this past weekend. In that series, the Spartans fared well, earning wins in two-out-of-three games against Washington.
In game one, the Spartans rode the pitching performance of Nolan Higgins to a 6-4 win, getting off on the right foot. They followed that win with an offensive explosion in game two, earning a 13-8 win over the Huskies.

Looking for a sweep, the Spartans fell just short in the series finale, dropping an 8-5 game in Seattle. All in all, the Spartans earned themselves a big conference series win.
Clawing their way back towards the .500 mark, Michigan State sits at 14-23 overall on the season, with an 8-13 record in conference play. The Spartans will be back in action against Notre Dame on Wednesday night in East Lansing.
