Darian Mensah accomplished an incredible feat in college football history following the No. 5 Miami Hurricanes’ 33-20 win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Friday night.

Miami is off to a strong start this season, winning its first two games. They continue their progress from last year, reaching the national championship game before losing to Indiana.
Despite seeing Carson Beck move on to the NFL, Miami found his replacement with Mensah. He is off to a historic start, elevating the Miami offense to great heights as he torched Wake Forest with an incredible performance.

Mensah was very accurate with his throws, overwhelming Wake Forest defenders with his timely playmaking. He completed 30 out of 34 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. This paved the way for him to join Jaxson Dart and Mitch Trubisky in FBS history.

Darian Mensah and the Miami attack flourished as the No. 5 Hurricanes beat Wake Forest on the road.
Miami did most of its damage in the first half, outmatching Wake Forest 24-7 in the opening 30 minutes. The Demon Deacons fought back in the second half but was unable to ignite a big rally to stop the Hurricanes’ explosive attack.

Mark Fletcher Jr. was active in the run game all night. He racked up 16 carries to finish with 85 yards and a touchdown. Malachi Toney led receivers with 12 catches for 114 yards and a touchdown, Elija Lofton had five receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown, while Joshua Moore caught three passes for 16 yards and a touchdown.
The No. 5 Hurricanes will look forward to their next matchup, being at home. They host the Central Michigan Chippewas in Week 4 as kickoff commences on Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
