The Miami Hurricanes will head to Gainesville for their regional in the 2026 NCAA baseball tournament. They’ll start their road to Omaha against Troy on Friday, May 29.
UM went 38-18 (16-14 in ACC) this season, a better record than last year’s team that upset Southern Miss in the Hattiesburg Regional last year to reach the super regionals. Under third-year coach J.D. Arteaga, the ‘Canes boast one of the most potent offenses in the country, scoring 8.5 runs per game behind All-ACC catcher Alex Sosa and outfielder Derek Williams. The bats will be even louder when third baseman Daniel Cuvet, who has missed the past 15 games with a back injury, can return to the lineup.

Earning the No. 5 seed in the ACC, the Hurricanes reached the tournament semifinals for the fourth time in five years before falling 9-3 to top-seeded Georgia Tech. Miami hasn’t made it to the College World Series since 2016, and last year was the first time since then that they’d advanced past the regional round.
Miami will take on Troy, an at-large team from the Sun Belt Conference. The Trojans fell in the conference tournament semifinals, getting eliminated by eventual champion Southern Miss.
The other side of the Gainesville Regional features host team Florida, the No. 8 seed in the tournament, and Rider out Metro Atlantic.
