Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has not made any public comments since his eternal rival Cristiano Ronaldo announced his retirement from international football.
Ronaldo on Thursday published a social media post in which he confirmed that he would no longer play for his country.
The 41-year-old made it clear that he was handing over the No. 7 shirt and captain’s armband.
Despite an outpouring of tributes and encomiums from the world of football, Messi has not joined in wishing Ronaldo all the best.
When Messi announced his own retirement before the October international break, Ronaldo posted a message on his pages, paying tribute to the former Argentina captain.
