Kyi Kyi Miles, who made The Arizona Republic’s All-Arizona basketball team his first two years at Mesa High School, is leaving the school to join AZ Compass Prep in Chandler.
The 6-foot-4 point guard, who will be a junior next season, announced his commitment to the national prep academy on Instagram on Thursday, May 14.

Miles attended AZ Compass Prep as an eighth grader before enrolling at Mesa to start his high school career. He led the Jackrabbits in scoring, assists and steals the past two seasons.
As a freshman, he helped lead Mesa to the 6A final two years ago, before losing to Phoenix Brophy Prep.
He was chosen by MaxPreps as the national Freshman of the Year that season.
Miles averaged 26.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, five assists and two steals in the 2025-26 season, when the Jackrabbits went 22-8. As a freshman the previous season, he averaged 19.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals.
“Kyi Kyi is an incredible teammate and an even better person,” Mesa coach Scott Stansberry said. “Mesa is going to miss him.”

He added: “I’m grateful for everything he brought on and off the court, and I’ll keep supporting him as he continues his journey.”
AZ Compass, a basketball-focused prep school that plays a national schedule, has benefited from former Arizona Interscholastic Association players.
Guard TyTy Washington played for Cesar Chavez (now named Cactus Canyon) before transferring to Compass and helping the prep academy reach the GEICO national high school semifinals in 2021.
The House brothers, guards Kaden and Kalek, left Scottsdale Desert Mountain after two seasons to help lead AZ Compass, which reached the national semifinals this past season.
