LAS VEGAS — Memphis football’s season opener is finally here.
The Tigers will face UNLV in a mouth-watering Week 0 game that could have College Football Playoff implications. It’s status as the only major game on at the time means there will be plenty of national attention, and that could be important later in the season.

There are more questions than answers when it comes to both teams, with both coaches prioritizing secrecy throughout the week. Neither team released a depth chart or named a starting quarterback in advance of the game.
For Memphis, it’s the start of a non-conference schedule that includes the home opener against Arkansas State and a stiff road test at Boise State on Sept. 12.
