Green Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden was targeted a game-high 12 times in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons. He finished with five receptions, 100 yards, and a touchdown in the loss.
Why It Matters: Golden came into the season as a WR4/WR5 type with some upside as he stepped into a larger role in Green Bay’s offense. After three games, it’s safe to say he has delivered on that potential, recording 16 catches (on a combined 30 targets) for 253 yards and a score. The second-year pro also drew a big pass interference penalty as Jordan Love repeatedly went his way on Thursday night. While the eventual return of Jayden Reed (back) could eat into Golden’s looks, I wouldn’t be overly concerned about it — Skyy Moore was targeted seven times in this game while filling in for Reed. Golden is playable now as a WR3, and if he keeps on his current trajectory he might push into the WR2 conversation.
