Watch: Mary J. Blige Dishes on Self-Love With Anthem Gorgeous
Mary J. Blige doesn’t need any hateration, holleration in this dancery or on stage.
In fact, she’s going to put them on blast. That’s why the “Family Affair” singer didn’t hesitate to take a moment to shut down a heckler during her Oct. 28 Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story Las Vegas residency concert, offering them the door.
“To the b—h that’s booing, you didn’t have to come here,” Blige shared while on stage at Dolby Live at Park MGM, per footage obtained by TMZ. “I hope someone sees you and politely removes you.”
Further emphasizing that she doesn’t need any more drama, Blige added, “The f–k are you spending your money for, idiot!”
The Grammy winner then apologized to her fans for getting heated.
“I’m sorry,” she noted. “Sometimes I have to go in.”
But Blige showed it was then time to bring back the fun up on it in this concert hall.
After all, the 55-year-old continued on with the show, and less than 30 minutes after pausing the concert to slam the critic, she brought out Wyclef Jean to perform their 2000 hit “911,” according to TMZ.
It makes sense that Blige took a stand to hopefully avoid no more drama at her residency as she’s shed light on what the My Life, My Story residency—which she kicked off in May and runs until February 2027—means to her.
“It’s just time,” she told Good Morning America in May, “I’m where I’m supposed to be. I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. And I didn’t give up.”
“My fans have seen me go through so much—good, bad, the whole thing,” Blige continued. “But what they love most—the true fans—is that I’m not bitter, I’m better.”

And the “Just Fine” artist—who has been candid about her past struggles with alcohol and drug addiction—emphasized that being able to heal fans through her music keeps her moving forward.
“What I was trying to do was get myself through tough times,” Blige admitted, “I had no idea I was getting other people through their tough times.”
As she put it, “It keeps me humble to hear people say, ‘Mary, your music saved my life.’”
