A man is in critical — but stable — condition after being attacked on Friday night.

Around 11 p.m., officers from the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment were patrolling near the local London Drugs when they found a seriously injured 41-year-old man, who had apparently been stabbed.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he continues to receive treatment.

As forensic identification officers and police officers joined the investigation, an 18-year-old woman was arrested close to where the injured man was found. Police say they believe this was an isolated incident, with no further risk to the public.
