Man critically injured in shooting in central Surrey

A 22-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a Monday night shooting in central Surrey.

Police were called about shots fired in the 9000-block of Snowdon Place shortly after 9:30 p.m. Officers found evidence of a shooting and evidence that someone had been injured, but no suspects or a victim were located.

When police checked, a victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound. They remain in critical condition.

The Surrey Police Service major crime unit has taken over the case, which does not appear to be related to a rash of extortion shootings in the city.

Anyone who has information, was in the area at the time or has dashcam or security footage is asked to call the Surrey police non-emergency line at 604-599-0502.
