A 34-year-old man is expected to face prosecution in the United Kingdom for allegedly supplying dozens of suspected counterfeit wine bottles.
The suspect, who was apprehended on suspicion of fraud by false representation, has been granted bail as authorities continue their investigation.
He was arrested at an address in Essex in an operation conducted by officers from the Food Standards Agency, FSA, and National Food Crime Unit, NFCU, supported by the Metropolitan Police Service.
The agency revealed that 55 bottles of fake wine were sold to an unsuspecting victim for almost £10,000 per bottle. The total cost exceeded £500,000.
