Mainz return to Bundesliga action next weekend with a trip to face a high-flying SV Elversberg side on Friday evening.
Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt, who take on Hamburger SV in the DFB-Pokal’s second round tonight, also ruled out Lilian Brassier.
Brassier, who joined from Stade Rennais in summer, has been a mainstay in Adi Hütter’s side since his arrival.
The Hessen club – who host HSV again in the Bundesliga this Sunday – said the French defender is also out “with minor knee issues.”
