LeBron James Has A Straightforward Answer For Critics After Shooting Rust

LeBron James gave a straightforward response to critics who questioned whether he could still keep up with his NBA peers after 24 years in the league. Speaking with the media, LeBron said he wasn’t concerned about his ability to contribute to his new team, the Philadelphia 76ers, after joining the roster in the summer of 2026.

LeBron began his historic 24th season when the 76ers faced the New York Knicks on October 20th. He finished that game with 14 points and 9 rebounds. In his next two games, against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons, the NBA star scored 17 and 18 points, respectively; however, he struggled from behind the arc, going 1-for-7.

Since his debut with the 76ers, critics have posted some of the athlete’s lowlights on social media, causing many to question whether the superstar has lost his spark. “Bro is putting up the same highlights I have at LA Fitness open run,” someone wrote on X.

In his following games against the Indiana Pacers and the 76ers, and in the second contest against the New York Knicks, LeBron shot 4-for-9 from beyond the arc, helping lead his team to two back-to-back wins.

He also appears unfazed by the noise and criticism, telling the media after yesterday’s matchup that he’s still finding his groove after relocating to the City of Brotherly Love.

“I’m still adjusting. Eight years in LA… I am adjusting, still,” he said, according to Bleacher Report. “But I think every day, every week, every month, I’ll continue to get better and better. My body will continue to ramp up, and the play will get better.”

    LeBron James

According to a previous report from The Blast, LeBron warned 76ers fans before the season that it would take time for the team to gel together. He pushed back against the belief that things should come together quickly, saying viewers needed to give the team time to cook together.

“In order for us to be great, we have to do things that are just not comfortable. We have to be comfortable being uncomfortable. That is the best way to expedite being great. You have to fall in love with doing things that’s uncomfortable, and if we can do that, then we can be a great team,” he said.

    • LeBron James adds a new business venture to his portfolio.

    • The NBA champion is also starting a new YouTube channel.

    • Magic Johnson reacted to news that the Los Angeles Lakers were sold to new owners.

    • LeBron James will play his first game against the defending NBA champions.

Don’t forget, LeBron signed a two-year contract worth $8 million with the 76ers in the summer of 2026. He opened up about the move on his X account, calling it his “last decision” before hanging up his shoes for good.

“I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point?” he asked online before saying he still has the drive to win. “I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning.”

And according to KSL, James is happy with his decision to relocate to Philly after eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers. Just days ago, the father of three said he was “having a great time” with his new team and in a new city.

LeBron also gave a major shoutout to his teammates, including Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown. “I love what we’re bringing to the table every night. I love our competitive spirit,” he said.

He continued, “Guys show up to work. Guys are ready to work hard. It’s a fun group, too. I’m like a big-a** kid, to be completely honest. These guys are great to be around and I’m more than happy I made the decision to come here.”
