Watch: Lea Michele Offers Proof She Can Read to Shut Down Longstanding Rumor
Lea Michele will forever be a gleek.
After Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy suggested that he might one day “revisit” the musical comedy series—which ran for six seasons 2009 to 2015 —Michele shared whether she’d ever be open to stepping into Rachel Berry’s shoes again in a possible Glee reboot in the future.
“I love Glee. I will always love Glee,” she exclusively told E! News’ Keltie Knight at the Michael Kors Spring Summer 2027 show at New York Fashion Week on Sept. 11. “I love Ryan Murphy.”
“[The show] just holds such a special place in my heart for me,” Michele continued. “So, I will follow Ryan wherever he goes.”
Glee—which followed the members of the William McKinley High School glee club—brought a level of superstardom to Kevin McHale, Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, Dianna Agron and more, along with late stars Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera.
And while the Fox series—created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan—ended over a decade ago, it still remains a beloved TV show, with the cast continuing to revisit moments and share behind-the-scenes stories.
And, according to Murphy, the door isn’t closed on reviving Glee one day.
“I had a great time making that show,” the producer told People in July. “That show is interesting because it’s come back around. So many young people now watch it. And I’m like, ‘Maybe we should revisit that show.’”
“My nostalgia and love for that show is enough that I’m like, ‘Well, maybe people would like to see a new incarnation of that in some capacity,’” Murphy teased. “So yeah, I love that show and I loved what it became and what it meant to so many people.”

And Michele is not the only Glee cast member who said Murphy’s involvement would be the deciding factor on whether they’d return for a potential reboot.
After all, Ushkowitz—who played Tina Cohen-Chang in the series—expressed the same sentiment.
“If Ryan was doing it and the right people were involved,” she told E! News. “I would consider it.”
