Academic staff at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso in Oyo State have begun an indefinite strike.
The union noted that the action begins at midnight of today (Thursday), over the non-implementation of the 2025 agreement between the Federal Government and the union and non-payment of their outstanding entitlements.
The union disclosed this in a statement signed by the Chairman and the Secretary, Professor Olujimi Dada and Dr Soji Arinola, respectively.
They explained that the decision was reached after an emergency congress held on Wednesday.
The union then directed all its members to suspend all academic activities in the institution.
“The suspension covers lectures, examinations, statutory meetings, laboratory work, teaching and other interactions with students,” it said.
