Watch: Kelly Ripa Reveals One Regret From Las Vegas Wedding With Mark Consuelos
Every rose has its thorn, including Kelly Ripa‘s wedding to Mark Consuelos.
The Hope & Faith alum revealed the one element she wishes she and Consuelos—with whom she shares kids Michael, 28, Lola, 24 and Joaquin, 23—had done differently for their inexpensive Las Vegas ceremony in 1996.
“I’m still sorry that we didn’t spring for flowers because I always think my hands look awkward,” Ripa shared during a June 12 episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, jokingly nudging her husband while adding, “Flowers are extra. And somebody didn’t want to spring for flowers.”
“The one photo that I never show is the photo where I’m awkwardly posing with my hands because I don’t have flowers,” Ripa continued. “It’s a very awkward photo.”
Despite the one “weird picture,” the 55-year-old praised the famed Chapel of the Bells venue for including pictures in the wedding package.
And that’s not the only advantage the All My Children alums—who met on set in 1996 when Consuelos auditioned to play Ripa’s onscreen love interest—cherish about their elopement. When giving advice to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce about their anticipated nuptials, the daytime co-hosts highlighted that their big day cost only $179.
“It’s less than a couple hundred bucks, probably even now still,” Consuelos, also 55, noted, quipping, “And those marriages stick.”
In addition to hypothetically saving Kelce and Swift a fortune—especially as Consuelos pointed to rumors that the couple could be tying the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York—Ripa highlighted the ease of her and Consuelos’ private ceremony—which none of their parents approved of at the time.
“You go in. You’re in, you’re out. It’s no muss, no fuss. You’re super married, super quick,” Ripa mused. “You can go in there in the middle of the night, no one has to know anything, you know what I mean?”
And after 30 years of marriage with the Riverdale star, it’s no surprise that Ripa has plenty of marriage tips—including for the bedroom.

“There needs to be a yin and a yang here. It can’t always be your way,” Ripa explained of their sex life on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in 2025. “It feels like 90 percent of the time it’s your way, and now that we work together every day, it’s gonna have to sometimes be my way. And my way’s at night only.’”
“I have a retainer in, I gotta rip that out,” Ripa joked. “And he’s got his nasal strips on. It’s like we are the most repulsive, disgusting [people]. I’m already pre-disgusted for tomorrow morning.”
