Watch: Kehlani Responds to “Hurtful” Accusation She’s in a Cult
Kehlani is taking a break to focus on her health.
Just a few weeks after kicking off her Kehlani World Tour, the Grammy winner announced she was forced to cancel two of her upcoming shows in New Jersey and Washington D.C. due to illness, sharing that she was hospitalized after being unable to swallow.
“After two off days feeling completely normal,” Kehlani wrote in a statement posted to Instagram Aug. 26, “ive been up all night unable to swallow & in so much pain.”
“I just left the hospital & am not cleared to sing for the next two shows,” she continued, “i’m so sorry Camden & DC.”
And while she had to cancel two concerts, the “Nights Like This” singer emphasized that her “team is working on a solution.”
Kehlani—whose 41-stop tour began on Aug. 6—expressed her sadness over having to let her fans down, explaining that although she prioritizes her health, sometimes it’s not enough.
“Breaks my heart to have to ever do this,” she wrote. “i do everything i’m supposed to to ensure my health stays up to par & it still isn’t guaranteed.”
The 31-year-old concluded her message by sharing that she’ll see her fans at her next tour stop in Richmond, V.A. on Aug. 29, writing, “we will pick back up in Virginia.”
Along with her statement, Kehlani also shared photos from inside an examination room.

As the “Cruise Control” singer emphasized, her health is not something she takes lightly. In fact, Kehlani—who publicly shared her bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder diagnoses in April 2025—has a strict “routine” to keep her balanced, amid her busy music career.
“You get in this cycle where you wake up at 6 p.m. because you were at the studio until 7 a.m.,” she told Billboard in a cover story published Aug. 20. “You’ve missed a whole day of sunshine. There’s no meal. You go back to the studio at 8 p.m. You grind or die. I have to have a routine supporting my wellness so I can freaking survive.”
As for what that routine entails? Exercise, taking undisclosed medications and spending time in nature.
Additionally, Kehlani shared that she’s “healing” from a recent sinus procedure.
“I just had a sinus surgery from hell because I haven’t been able to breathe for seven years. Turns out my nasal canals were blocked,” she explained to the outlet. “But this will be my first tour using my breath to my full capacity.”
