Watch: KATSEYE Shares Update on Manon Amid Her Absence From Group
KATSEYE knows Manon will always be iconic—but on purpose.
Amid the singer’s hiatus from the girl group to focus on her health and well-being, the remaining members—Yoonchae, Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Sophia Laforteza and Megan Skiendiel—offered an update on Manon’s return.
“Because we did announce that it is about her well-being, it’s not our place or anybody else’s place to rush her,” Sophia shared with Allure in an interview published June 25. “We want to give her all the time that she needs, all the space that she needs, and so we don’t want to make any assumptions, set anything in stone.”
The 23-year-old added, “She really deserves that and the door is always open.”
While Laforteza and the rest of the group didn’t want to speculate about when they would officially be a group of six again, the singer did understand the curiosity, especially as Manon is as beloved by the fans as she is by the group.
“If I was in their place I would be asking too,” she explained. “But what we can say is that we wish that you could just keep extending love and support and patience and all those things, because all of us deserve that. Anybody does.”
KATSEYE first announced Manon’s temporary hiatus in February, sharing in a statement that the 22-year-old would be stepping away from “group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing.”

“We fully support this decision,” they wrote on X. “KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.”
And at the time, Manon (full name Manon Bannerman) was grateful to be able to focus on herself and teased that the hiatus was part of a bigger experience she had within the group.
“Sometimes things unfold in ways we don’t fully control,” she said on her Weverse DMs, “but I’m trusting the bigger picture.”

However, when fans noticed that Manon—who became part of KATSEYE when it was formed on Netflix’s Popstar Academy in 2024—removed the name of the group from her Instagram bio, she released another statement offering an update on her status with KATSEYE and their record label H&G (HYBE x Geffen).
“Thank you so much for all the love and support you’ve been sending my way,” she wrote in a DM to her Weverse subscribers in April. “I’m really grateful for the patience and kindness everyone has shown during this time. HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I’m happy and I’m healthy. I’ll share more soon.”
