As a player, or a fan, when the schedule comes out each year there’s a game or two that you circle. Ours were against the Raiders. Whoever won the first game won the second one and went to the playoffs. The other team didn’t.

Beating the Cardinals convincingly last week in front of a Broncos friendly crowd in Arizona was nice, but a win against the Chiefs this week would be awesome. It’s one of those circled games for both franchises. A Denver win would put both the Broncos and the Chiefs at 6-2, and the winner would be at the top of the AFC West. Seattle’s defense exposed some weaknesses in Kansas City’s offense last week. I’m sure Vance Joseph is watching the film to see how the Broncos defense can duplicate the Seahawks success against the Chiefs. That’s how it works in the NFL. Once someone finds a weakness it will be exploited until you fix it. Denver’s offense showed some explosiveness against the Cardinals with a long run by Bo Nix and big plays by Marvin Mims and RJ Harvey. The explosive plays had been missing from the Broncos offense this year. One thing that didn’t change against the Cardinals was the Broncos committing too many penalties. Fortunately, Arizona committed a bunch too. The Chiefs don’t commit many penalties. Penalties will often lose a close game. The Chiefs are coming off their first loss of the season, and the Broncos are on a 3-game win streak. The game is in Denver where the Broncos have an advantage with crowd noise and altitude. Broncos 30 Chiefs 26. Go Broncos!
