Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs returned to the field last month after missing six games on the commissioner’s exempt list following his domestic violence arrest in May. But newly released police records have raised fresh questions about his future.
The records include allegations from three additional women who accused Jacobs of abuse in incidents dating back to 2021 and 2022. Now, Jacobs’ attorneys have issued a lengthy statement denying all three accounts and accusing police of releasing them without any investigation.

Jacobs was arrested in May after an altercation with his then-girlfriend. In September, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property.
The NFL placed Jacobs on the commissioner’s exempt list in August, causing him to miss the first six games of the season. He returned on Oct. 19 and has scored three touchdowns in two games since.
On Friday, the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department released its case file following a public records request. According to NBC 26 in Green Bay, which first reported on the records, three women contacted police after Jacobs’ arrest with allegations of their own.

The women described alleged incidents in April 2021, January 2022, and May 2022, including accusations that Jacobs grabbed them, pushed one against a wall, and threw another onto a bed and the floor. One woman also alleged that he threatened to kill her.
The NFL said on Saturday that it will review the new allegations as part of its ongoing investigation into Jacobs, according to The Sporting News.
In a statement, Jacobs’ lawyers said that he denies all three women’s accounts, via Pro Football Talk.
“The file includes summaries of three telephone interviews describing events in 2021 and 2022. Josh Jacobs denies all three accounts and has a substantial body of tangible evidence to back up his assertions,” the statement read.

“The police department’s released file contains only phone interviews, taken years after the fact, with no additional investigation, save for an acknowledgement that Josh did nothing wrong,” the statement continued.
The statement addressed each of the allegations, saying that one woman had made a claim to the NFL, which “reviewed it and decided no action was warranted.” It said another woman made her claim only after Jacobs called Las Vegas police to report her for misconduct, and that Jacobs “denies any physical altercation” with the third woman.
The statement also addressed Jacobs’ May arrest.
“Josh took responsibility for what happened in May. He entered into an agreement with prosecutors for two misdemeanors, and he is meeting the court’s requirements,” the statement read.

“The three accounts are old, are hearsay, and easily disproven, yet released to the media by police without any investigation to determine whether they were accurate or contradicted by evidence. Josh is answering them in detail because of the character assassination that is occurring, unfairly threatening his career,” it concluded.
The Packers have not commented publicly since the additional allegations came to light. According to Pro Football Talk, only one of the three women had previously contacted the NFL, meaning the other two accounts appear to be new to the league.
Even if the NFL doesn’t take further action, the Packers could decide on their own to move on from Jacobs. For now, his future in Green Bay is very much in question.
