Watch: JonBenét Ramsey’s Dad Responds to Claim She’s in Epstein Files
JonBenét Ramsey‘s brother has not given up on the search for her killer nearly three decades later.
Breaking his 10-year public silence, Burke Ramsey detailed his belief that DNA belonging to an “unknown male intruder” found on his slain sister’s underwear and beneath her finger may be “the best evidence we have.”
“We need to find that match,” he told the Daily Mail in an interview published Nov. 5. “It’s probably the person who did it, you know, and it’s the best chance we have to solve this.”
“And I want it solved,” the 39-year-old continued. “I don’t know much about the scientific nitty-gritty and it’s hard to learn the details of the case, because it is emotionally taxing. But they need to send those samples to different labs again and keep testing.”
He added, “Find the match. That will go a long way to bringing justice.”
Burke was 9 years old when his sister JonBenét, 6, was reported missing from their family’s Colorado home on Dec. 26, 1996. Her body was eventually found in the basement, with her cause of death ruled as asphyxia by strangulation and blunt head trauma.
In 2003, Burke and his parents, John Bennett Ramsey and the late Patsy Ramsey, were ruled out as contributors to the unknown DNA discovered on JonBenét. And though Burke in particular has been the subject of many online theories, he and the Ramsay family has long denied his involvement in his sister’s death.

Aside from DNA evidence, which John alleged in 2024 hadn’t been tested, investigators through the years have also homed in on a handwritten ransom note for $118,000 found in the Ramseys’ family home on the day of JonBenét disappearance.
For John, now 82, he believes the note is an important clue to his daughter’s unsolved murder.
“One of the theories that I came up with,” he shared in a 20/20 in unearthed in 2024, “that it was close to the net amount I’d received that year as a bonus.”
John surmised that the number “means something” to the murderer.
“Whether that’s tied to my bonus or something else, we don’t know,” he added. “Only the killer knows.”
In the decades since her shocking death, the unsolved JonBenét case has continued to be the subject of public fascination. For more inside the tragedy and its long aftermath, keep reading…
