Watch: John Krasinski Shares Emotional Reaction to Wife Emily Blunt’s Career Milestone
There’s nothing quiet about John Krasinski‘s support for his wife, Emily Blunt.
Indeed, John couldn’t help but get emotional over the Devil Wears Prada: 2 actress being awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame alongside brother-in-law and costar Stanley Tucci on April 30.
“It was very moving for them. Certainly moving for me,” John exclusively told E! News’ Will Marfuggi. “I cry at anything, so I was tearing up the whole time.”
The celebration was a true family affair on multiple fronts. Felicity Blunt attended alongside Emily and Stanley, her husband of over 13 years. Meryl Streep, Dwayne Johnson and Matt Damon also gave speeches about their bonds with the actors.
That’s why the Office alum—whose new movie Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War hits Prime Video on May 20—said the ceremony “really felt like that old, Hollywood vibe of celebrating this longstanding tradition,” which was exciting for John, “not only as a fan of theirs but a fan of Hollywood. I don’t know that those types of ceremonies happen very much anymore.”
And the 46-year-old—who shares children Hazel, 12, and Violet, 9, with his wife of 16 years—isn’t just a fan of Emily as a person, but he’s also a true fan of her iconic movies. In fact, he admitted to E! News in 2016 that he was a longtime Devil Wears Prada super fan.
“There was one day when it was on, and I said it was so good and Emily said, ‘Have you seen this movie?'” John recalled of a time he was caught watching the 2006 film. “I said, ‘A lot of times.’ She said, ‘That’s so sweet, but how many times?’ Luckily, we had been dating for about a year, so there was a lot of trust built up, and I said, ‘Like 75.’”

Another time, he confessed that he tried to hide that he was watching her movie—which also features Anne Hathaway—so she wouldn’t know just how obsessed he was with the fashion flick.
“She opened the door, and I flipped the channel, and she looked at me like, ‘Were you just watching porn?'” John explained to E! News, noting how it ultimately may have been “better for [him] at the time for her to think [he] was watching porn than watching The Devil Wears Prada for the seventy-fifth time.”
With John being so inspired by Emily’s impressive career, it’s no wonder that the A-list couple would eventually go on to work together. They starred in A Quiet Place in 2018 and A Quiet Place 2 in 2021—movies both directed by John.
