John Daly is one of the most naturally gifted golfers in the history of the sport, if not the most naturally gifted.
Tiger Woods was obviously precociously talented as well, but he worked a lot harder on his game than Daly ever did.

Daly and Woods actually enjoyed many thrilling battles with each other throughout the years and, despite the obvious difference in their styles as players and characters, they both have huge respect for one another.
John Daly won five times on the PGA Tour, including two major championships, while Tiger Woods is one of the two most successful golfers ever to have graced the game.
Daly and Woods have been two of the most explosive and exciting players to watch over the past few decades.
However, while both were incredibly long off the tee, their greatest strength was arguably their exceptional short games.

During an appearance on the Full Send Podcast, Daly revealed the specific part of the game that amateurs should focus on improving if they want to lower their scores.
“Chipping and putting, for all the amateurs out there. Chipping, putting.“ Daly said.
Daly was then told that Tiger Woods’ father, Earl, taught his son to practice exactly the same way when he first started playing.
“He started putting when he was very young,“ Daly replied.
“Then he went to chipping, then he went to 100 yards, then 150 yards or whatever.

“The drivers, everybody in golf that plays can hit a driver, they can hit a five iron, they can hit a six iron.
“But it’s 125, 150 yards in, that means a lot.“
Tiger Woods still spends the majority of his time on the practice area working on his chipping and putting.
It’s no coincidence that the 50-year-old has won a record-equalling 82 PGA Tour titles throughout his career, including 15 major championships.
If you are an amateur golfer who wants to lower your scores immediately, practicing your chipping and putting is the quickest way to do so.
