The Steelers were back on the practice field Tuesday afternoon as the roster is trimmed and the practice squad is set.
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. shared some insight into his contract negotiations.
The conversation was right to the point. When asked if he thinks a deal will get done, he told the media they can “hope and think all day,” but it’s really up to the front office and what they want to do with the team.

Porter Jr. said he didn’t want to speak too much about the future, but he was practicing Thursday and echoing the message of his coach ahead of practice. He’s just taking it day by day.
He noted he never put a timetable or a deadline on the negotiations, and he emphasized his back injury was what kept him on the PUP list.
He said his back is feeling pretty good, and it’s getting back to where it’s supposed to be
